Gerd Haeusler, CEO of BayernLB added: "We look forward to Michael Bücker joining us as a colleague. He is a highly customer-oriented team player with a deep knowledge of the Bavarian and German corporate banking market. I am convinced that he is the right person to help us achieve our ambitious growth targets, especially in business with German Mittelstand customers."

Following a succession of management positions in the corporate banking/lending division, he was tapped to head operations in southern Germany with responsibility for all of Commerzbank's structured finance activities with Mittelstand customers in that region. In 2005, Bücker became a member of the managing board of Commerzbank's regional branch office in Munich, Germany, where he was responsible for business with corporate customers in Munich and upper Bavaria as well as the neighbouring regions of lower Bavaria, Swabia and Allgäu.
