BayernLB is the fifth-largest bank in Germany and enjoys a strong rating. It has had a presence in France for almost 30 years through its Paris branch. The Bank’s activities include corporate lending, real estate financing and structured and project finance. With a staff of 20, the Paris Branch also performs a loan origination function. Its transactions are executed in close cooperation with its head office in Munich.


  • Assist two Paris-based senior relationship managers as part of the larger real estate department in Munich, with the origination, structuring, and executing of commercial real estate financing transactions in France and adjacent countries:
    • Origination: compile fundamentals for new financing proposals; analyse rent rolls, property due diligence, cash flows, terms and conditions
    • Structuring: build and develop a comprehensive proposal that meets both the customer’s and the bank’s requirements
    • Execution: prepare documentation and ensure a seamless closing process
  • Research and absorb real estate and financial market information, gain insight into accounting and legal issues in these markets
  • Help build, maintain and expand business relationships and network with investors, legal advisors, other banks
  • Integrate within the Paris branch (which includes Corporate and Project Finance), and within the real estate department based in Munich, as well with business units (“Sales”, Syndication, Valuation), risk units (Risk Office or “RO”) and other operational fields (Financial Markets, Mid-Office, Legal…)
  • Develop a strong sense of shared responsibility for transactions within the Paris team, the Munich team, and specifically with the RO
  • Acquire a good understanding and working knowledge of internal and external processes, systems and regulation


  • Minimum 2 – 3 years professional experience in the commercial real estate sector in a transactional or advisory role
  • University degree in finance or economics, preferably master’s degree
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Solid understanding of cash flow and real estate dynamics
  • Good level of expertise with MS-Office products, in particular Excel
  • Personality/work ethic:
    • Resilient and pursuasive yet humble with customers and with senior management
    • Shows initiative and is capable of autonomously managing tasks with differing levels of complexity/seniority, adapts quickly to a fast changing environment
    • Willing to solve issues
    • Uses sound judgment
  • Language skills: professional fluency in French and English; working knowledge of German is not required but definitely a plus
  • Upbeat personality, happy to get busy, ready for a challenge, open mindset


This permanent position is based in Paris. It is part of a dynamic, highly motivated team of senior relationship managers which is incorporated in the international real estate department in Munich where the origination, structuring, and execution of commercial real estate financing transactions are managed.
